For the last ten years I’ve dedicated myself to the importance of self-care and teaching other professional women from my own experience. In the past, I sacrificed my health, my relationships and my emotional well-being while striving to balance my professional career and family life. I put others needs ahead of my own and therefore my dreams never materialized.
To the external world I had it all: successful professional career, financially secure and a family life. On the inside, I had a void in my life I couldn’t fill and I couldn’t explain. All I knew is that I needed to compromise myself in certain areas of my life to make other areas work. I wasn’t being true to myself and frankly it sucked.
I made the decision to start focusing on self-care. As a result, I learned that I cannot give what I do not have. I have learned to give from a place of love instead of guilt and obligation. As a result, I learned a lot about myself and came to understand that I can have it all and not compromise myself.
Our life journey is an evolution; not something that is completed with a 3 month course or a self-help book. As I continue on my life journey, I will share the practical tools and resources I use myself, in the hopes that it helps you to improve your own life.
I am glad you’re here. Please look around for the support you need. And if you get stuck, let us know. Answers are only an email away at debbi@steppingintojoy.com

Debbi, I pray that God continues to bless you on your journey. I am, where you were, at this moment in my own life’s journey. Trying to reestablish a life after divorce. Trying to put all of the pieces, minus one, back together. My life after divorce has been difficult to say the least. I struggle to find and redefine my Self again each and every day. Just “happened” to stumble upon your blog this morning. And it spoke to me on so many levels in a very personal way. It ‘s lifted up my spirit and gave me a renewed sense of hope and energy.
I just wanted to say, THANK YOU, for sharing a small part of yourself and being a beacon and inspiration for other women in similiar situations!

I am here to serve those who are still struggling. I lived a blessed life and desire to work with those women who want the same for themselves. Much love, debbi
